Valentine’s Day Brownies

Description

These valentine’s day brownies are rich, super chocolatey, and perfectly sweet. Top with sprinkles and share with your valentine.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 stick + 2 tbsp butter, unsalted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs and 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tbsp corn syrup
  • 2/3 cup flour
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Ganache

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 12oz semi-sweet chocolate chips

Topping

  • sprinkles


Instructions

  1. Grease your baking sheet (I prefer avocado spray) and pre-heat the oven to 350º.
  2. Melt butter in a medium-sized microwave-safe bowl in 20-second increments until fully melted and allow to cool.
  3. Add both sugars and cocoa powder. Stir just until combined.
  4. Add in eggs, vanilla, and corn syrup and stir just until combined.
  5. Sift in flour, cornstarch, and salt, and again, stir just until combined.
  6. Scoop batter evenly into a greased heart-shaped pan.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
  8. Heat heavy cream in the microwave for 60 seconds.
  9. Add in chocolate chips.
  10. Stir until smooth.
  11. Scoop ganache on top of cooled brownies.
  12. Spread ganache until it’s a thin layer on top.
  13. Add sprinkles and refrigerate for at least an hour.
