If someone had told me a year ago that I’d be writing a post about the best women’s perfumes 2026 has to offer, I would have laughed.
I’ve always been a ride-or-die, loyal-to-the-core, one-perfume girl.
When I was 15 years old, I hugged a coworker and immediately asked what perfume she was wearing. It was one of those scents that I thought about on a regular basis because it just gave me an instant dopamine rush. That perfume was the budget-friendly, pick up in any drug store or grocery store, Jovan White Musk. I bought a bottle and wore it forever. I’m talking through high school, my twenties, and well into my thirties. My oldest daughter actually bought a bottle recently because she said it reminds her of childhood. Apparently, “Mom always smells like Jovan White Musk” became a core memory.
A few years ago, my middle daughter introduced me to Ariana Grande God Is a Woman and once again I became loyal to a single scent. It lived in my purse, sat on my bathroom counter, and was the perfume I reached for every single day. I’m talking, first thing in the morning, refresh during my lunch break and anytime I was out and about. I got so many compliments on it, that I didn’t see a reason to switch. The only issue I had (and many others based on online reviews) is that it doesn’t last super long.
About a week or two ago, I opened TikTok and found a perfume auction. Have you seen these? It’s a retail store auctioning off every perfume you can think of. Highest bidder wins it and they ship it directly to you. They are dangerous for the wallet and addicting but honestly, it’s been so much fun trying to win perfume for 1/2 the retail cost. My daughter and I found ourselves watching all day. Problem is, I had no idea which ones I would like. At least in a store, I could test it out and see if I like it. But online, it’s such a gamble. I couldn’t justify spending $20-$80 on something I’m not even sure I’m going to like.
So I did what any reasonable person with questions would do… I asked ChatGPT. What started as a simple ChatGPT recommendation based on a few fragrances I already loved turned into a full-blown perfume obsession. Before I knew it, I had purchased 15 perfumes, many of which were completely outside my comfort zone but I put my trust in ChatGPT and figured if I or my daughters didn’t like any of them, we could always sell them.
Once they arrived, I tested out one a day. Surprisingly, there were only 2 I didn’t like! I also discovered something surprising. Having a signature scent is wonderful, but having a fragrance wardrobe is even better. It’s kind of like how I’ve discovered I don’t need just one favorite beauty product anymore. If you’ve been around here awhile, you know I’m always sharing products I’ve fallen in love with, whether it’s skincare, makeup, or lifestyle favorites. Some perfumes are perfect for everyday wear. Others feel made for date nights, vacations, girls’ nights out, or those moments when you want people to stop and ask what you’re wearing.
