In the days where technology has basically taken over, we often forget how important it is to spend quality time with our kids. We only get 18 years with them before they’re adults and it’s important to make the most of that time. The key to successful child/parent bonding activities in our home? Plenty of snacks… especially Snyder’s of Hanover® Pretzels and Cape Cod® Chips because those are their favorites!
Shopping
I get my quality time in with our teenager, Lucia, every time I ask her to go shopping with me. One of her favorite stores is Walmart. She loves to visit every aisle and look for deals, especially in the snack aisle. She’s definitely my girl! Starting May 20th, Walmart shoppers can buy $15 worth of participating Cape Cod®, Kettle®, Late July®, Snack Factory®, and Snyder’s of Hanover® products between May 20, 2019 – June 30, 2019 in one transaction and get a $5 Walmart eGift Card. Lucia especially loves those deals because I allow her to redeem that $5 card on something she wants (and at Walmart, there are so many options at or near that price point).
Backyard Camping
With our Snyder’s Lance snacks in hand, it’s Super Dad’s turn for a little one-on-one time. Recently, he pitched a tent in our backyard for a camp out! I loved seeing how much they can learn about each other when there are no screens involved. And although they often disagree, as teenage girls and Dads do, they have so much in common. Snacks, for one.
Find Fun Activities
You’d be surprised just how much fun you can have in your own backyard when you think outside the box. Super Dad and Lucia can always find ways to have fun together. Whether its wheelbarrow races, the seesaw that is clearly too small for them, making s’mores by the fire pit, or talking about life in the treehouse, they are able to have fun together with the most simple of tools. These childhood memories will be something that Lucia will always remember. And that, for us, is the key to a successful bonding moment.
Got Snacks?
When you’re planning your next bonding experience, make sure you’ve stocked up on their favorite snacks. In fact, you may want to head to Walmart now, buy $15 worth of participating Cape Cod®, Kettle®, Late July®, Snack Factory®, and Snyder’s of Hanover® products between May 20, 2019 – June 30, 2019 in one transaction, and get that $5 Walmart eGift Card. Snap a picture of your receipt, ensuring all the items are in view, and email the photo to snackon@uploadreceipt.com by July 13. Once your purchase have been validated, you will receive a code. You can redeem that code at summersnacking.com by July 27 to receive a $5 Walmart eGift Card. You can use it in-store or online for something to make your day even more fun!

What a great idea for spending time with your kids! Kids aren’t concerned with money like we are. All they’re interested in is “when do we spend time together?”, and “can I have some pretzels, please?”
These are great tips! My daughter loves to shop with me, and we go with my mom too so it’s a great family bonding experience for us.
Backyard camping is so much fun. You’re right there in case you can’t make it the whole night, but it feels like you’re out in the wilderness.
Fun suggestions! I enjoy hiking with my kids, as well as trips to the local water park. No matter what we’re doing, plenty of snacks are a must.
These are great ways to bond. We bond by going camping, swimming, playing games, etc. My kids love these pretzels!
Snyders pretzels are so tasty. We get them all the time to dip in hummus
That’s some great activities! definitely gonna keep them in mind!
