One of my fondest memories growing up was going fishing with my Papa and my Uncle. There was something about that special family time outdoors, waiting to see if we could catch something, that still brings a smile to my face. My kids have a very different childhood. While they love to play outside, most of their hobbies are done inside and include a screen. I often wish I could show them how much fun it was to have a technology-free childhood. Things were so much simpler, and it was so much fun to spend time with the people I loved the most, making memories. Now that we’ve been spending more time at home, we are making it our mission to introduce things from our own childhood, starting with fishing.

My kids have actually been begging us to go fishing for years. We bought fishing rods in 2018 and while they went once shortly after we purchased them, those fishing rods have been sitting in storage ever since. Life gets busy. Driving back and forth to school, work, extracurricular activities, friends’ houses, and the many, many errands we have to run limits our time for these sorts of things. But now… we have plenty of time, so we took the girls fishing last weekend. Luckily, we have a canal on our road, so we didn’t have to travel far.

I’m happy to report that we’ve added fishing to our weekly calendar, and we feel good about bonding over “reel time” with our kids, reminiscing about our childhood and passing along our nostalgia and knowledge of fishing to our kids with the help of these Just Add Nature kits. Just Add Nature is easy, FUN and designed with kids in mind!

Hello There!

Hi! I’m Heather, Mom of 3, professional snack opener, the only person who knows where everything is in my house and part-time magician (I can turn a bunch of candy into a gift basket and everyone thinks it’s amazing). I share a mix of parenting moments, easy recipes, crafts, and DIY home decor projects.

Around here, we love turning ordinary stuff into extraordinary gifts, from candy box baskets and birthday punch boards to homemade advent calendars and other crafty chaos that somehow always works out.

Welcome to The Super Mom Life — where the projects are fun, the coffee is strong, and the laughter is pretty much required for survival. Don't forget to follow us on social media!
