Halloween might be my favorite time of the year. I love everything about it. I love the decor, the food, the candy, the costumes, and especially the crafts! This year, we are starting with something the girls used to make in school every year, a ghost lollipop.
If you’ve never had the pleasure of making a ghost lollipop, I’m going to walk you through it. Basically, you covered a lollipop with a few coffee filters, tie a bow and create a face with either googly eyes or a marker. We’ve also created a free printable sheet of cards to which you can print, cut, and attach your ghost lollipop. Then have your child sign their name at the bottom before they hand them out.
Can we use any lollipops?
Yes! You can use any lollipop you’d like. Keep in mind that the size will make a difference. I use blow pops, or tootsie pops since they are larger.
What if we don’t have googly eyes?
You don’t have to use googly eyes, though we think they make the ghost a little bit more fun. You can grab a pack of self-adhesive googly eyes on amazon. They are fairly inexpensive and can be used for so many crafts! If you don’t have time or don’t want to spend the extra money, you can also use a marker to draw the eyes on.
Is there a specific type of rubber bands?
You’ll want to use small rubber bands. I prefer white or clear. If your kids have Rainbow Looms, you can use those as well. They should go around twice to secure the coffee filter to the lollipop.
How do I secure the ghost lollipop to the card?
We use a small piece of tape and fold it so that it’s double-sided. I stick that to the ribbon on the back of the ghost’s neck and then stick that to the card. You can also use a glue dot or any other adhesive.
What supplies do I need to make a ghost lollipop?
All you’ll need to make a ghost lollipop is:
- Free printable hey, boo cards
- Cardstock paper
- Lollipops
- Coffee filters
- Small rubber bands or rainbow looms
- Tiny googly eyes
- Ribbon
- Black marker
How to create a ghost lollipop:
Step 1: Take 3 coffee filters and place the lollipop in the center.
Step 2: Fold the coffee filter in half and make sure to make the front part smooth. This is where the ghost’s face will be.
Step 3: Fold the rest of the filter behind the back and make sure the front part is still smooth.
Step 4: Put a small rubber band around the neck of the ghost to secure the coffee filter onto the lollipop.
Step 5: Place two googly eyes on the face of the ghost. If you don’t have googly eyes, you can use a marker to draw two circles for the eyes.
Step 6: Draw a mouth for your ghost with a marker.
Step 7: Tie a piece of ribbon around the neck and make a bow.
Step 8: Print out our hey, boo free printable. Cut the cards out. Using tape, secure the back of the ribbon to one of the cards.
If you make a ghost lollipop, we’d love to hear your thoughts. If you post them on social media, we’d love it for you to tag @thesupermomlife.

These are so so cute, and I reckon these would be an awesome thing to give trick or treaters x
Isn’t this so cute? I want one for Halloween. I think my nephews would love it!
I love these! I used to make them as a kid with kleenex!!! Perfect for a Halloween treat!
It sounds interesting. I haven’t done such ghosts, but I definitely would like to try them for Halloween 😀 They look funny 🙂
I used to make ghost lollipops all the time when I was a kid to give to my friends. But I used tissues instead of coffee filters. I like that the coffee filters are thicker, though.
Wow, these. are so fun! I love Halloween and all of the fun favors! They look really fun for anyone of any age.
Hihi…it’s my first time hearing of ghost lollipops! They are so pretty, Heather! Thanks for sharing about them.
