In our house, we can’t start our day off without a good cup of coffee, maybe two or three, depending on how good or bad our previous nights sleep was. We’ve tried just about every flavored creamer there is on the market and realized that when we finally found one that we really loved, we were spending a lot of money on something we could easily make ourselves.
With just a few ingredient changes, you can make a number of different flavored homemade creamers. You’ll be surprised how easy it really is!
The idea is to get creative and create your own homemade creamer flavors! The possibilities are endless.
You can also adjust the ingredients based on how sweet you like your coffee. Love it sweet? Use a sweetened condensed milk and sweetened almond milk.
Prefer it less sweet, get the unsweetened condensed milk and an unflavored milk. I’ve actually found that I no longer need to add sugar to my coffee, if my creamer is already sweet!
Here are some of our favorites:
Chocolate Almond:
1 3/4 cups milk of your choice (almond milk, whole, fat free, etc.)
14 oz condensed milk (sweetened or unsweetened)
2 tbsp chocolate syrup or cocoa powder
1/2 tsp almond extract
Coconut Caramel:
1 3/4 cups coconut milk
14 oz condensed milk (sweetened or unsweetened)
2 tbsp caramel sauce/topping
1 tsp coconut extract
1 tsp vanilla extract
Chocolate Hazelnut:
1 3/4 cups milk of your choice (almond milk, whole, fat free, etc.)
14 oz condensed milk (sweetened or unsweetened)
2 tbsp chocolate syrup or cocoa powder
1 tsp hazelnut extract
1 tsp vanilla extract
Almond Joy:
1 3/4 cups coconut milk
14 oz condensed milk (sweetened or unsweetened)
2 tbsp chocolate syrup or cocoa powder
1/2 tsp almond extract
*If you love Almond Joy, try our ice cream pie!
Cinnamon:
1 3/4 cups milk of your choice (almond milk, whole, fat free, etc.)
14 oz condensed milk (sweetened or unsweetened)
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp vanilla extract
Chocolate Caramel Coconut:
1 3/4 cups coconut milk
14 oz condensed milk (sweetened or unsweetened)
1 tbsp caramel sauce/topping
1 tbsp chocolate syrup or cocoa powder
1 tsp coconut extract
And some of our favorite holiday and fall flavors:
Pumpkin Spice:
1 3/4 cups milk of your choice (almond milk, whole, fat free, etc.)
14 oz condensed milk (sweetened or unsweetened)
3 tbsp pumpkin puree
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 tsp vanilla extract
Peppermint Mocha:
1 3/4 cups milk of your choice (almond milk, whole, fat free, etc.)
14 oz condensed milk (sweetened or unsweetened)
2 tbsp chocolate syrup or cocoa powder
1 tsp peppermint extract
Eggnog:
1 3/4 cups milk of your choice (almond milk, whole, fat free, etc.)
14 oz condensed milk (sweetened or unsweetened)
1 tsp nutmeg
2 tsp rum extract
1 tsp vanilla extract
Once you create your homemade creamers, they can be stored in glass bottles (we actually reuse bottles from drinks we pick up at the grocery store when we’re in a hurry). Although we go through creamer pretty quickly in our house, I recommend using a marker to write the expiration date on each bottle (I use the date from the milk we use).
Also, if you want to get fancy, you can get this adorable label maker on Amazon for less than $10 and create your own labels for each flavor!

I am glad I came across this post. I have not tried making my own creamer, but you made it look so easy. I am going to try making the chocolate hazelnut one first. That has always been a favorite flavor of mine.

What brand of coconut milk do you recommend for the Almond Joy? I can’t seem to find a brand with enough flavor!

Hi Jamie! The canned coconut milk tends to have the most coconut flavor to me. You can also add a little coconut extract if you want more of a coconut flavor.
Wow! This is such a eeally great idea! It is so perfect I really want to try this!

This is so great. I don’t really drink coffee or use creamer, but I know many who do. This would even make for a wonderful gift this year. I love it.
I’m pinning this because I recently found out “I thought I loved coffee turns out I love creamer.” =)

I have never tried to make a homemade vanilla creamer and I am glad to find this to your article. Thank you!
Holy cow. I ran out of coffee creamer this morning and wanted to try making my own so I went to Pinterest and found this blog. I made the almond joy one because I really like almond and I really like coconut (and I had all the ingredients for this at home already 🙂). I haven’t put it in coffee yet but, whoa, I could drink this plain it is so good! I used the cocoa powder and ended up having to blend it in my Nutribullet to get the chunks out of it but it’s perfect now! It is sitting in my fridge tonight and will be putting it in my coffee tomorrow morning and I cannot wait!!

Hi Holly! Thanks so much for stopping by! Almond Joy is one of my faves! So glad you loved it! I usually use chocolate syrup which doesn’t get chunky. You could try to heat up the coconut milk a bit first, add the cocoa and whisk and then once it’s cooled down a bit, add the other ingredients. Can’t wait to hear what you think!
The store is out of my favorite creamer, and I never thought to make my own! Thanks for sharing these recipes. I do have sweetened condensed milk!
I love the French Vanilla recipe! I should do this at home soon! Thanks for sharing the info!

I can’t wait to make these! I love a little coffee with my creamer. LOL

I love this and already sent it to my friends! I am a coffee addict and I love flavors, but I can’t do traditional creamers. They taste weird to me, but I also grew up with just sugar and milk in my coffee. I adore the natural variety I can find in stores now, however they are pricey! I am going to have to try this, thank you so much for sharing!
