I love the holidays. Any holiday really. It’s a great excuse to pull out our box of craft supplies that we’ve collected over the years and use our imaginations! And I especially love encouraging our little one’s creativity.
We try to choose a few projects every year and have the girls create our holiday décor. They love that we proudly display their projects and they make a great gift for your guests or their school friends!
Hopefully you already saw our Snowman Jars, which were a HUGE hit. Now, we’re excited to share our second Christmas craft idea.. these hot cocoa reindeer jars!
What You’ll Need
- Jar
- Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- Sugar
- Mini Marshmallows
- Googly Eyes
- Red Pom Poms
- Brown Foam Sheets
- Glue dots or hot glue
- Scissors
How to Create Your Reindeer Hot Cocoa
- Layer the jar with cocoa powder, sugar and top with mini marshmallows and seal jar.
- Glue two googly eyes, two antlers* and a red pom pom nose on each jar.
*Antlers should be cut out of foam sheets or can be purchased already cut out, as part of a reindeer craft making kit in some craft stores.
If you want to give these hot cocoa reindeer jars as gifts, you can personalize the antler area with each name, using marker or pen!
I love this reindeer hot cocoa jar craft because it’s really easy for the kids to create and fairly inexpensive. One snowman jar should cost somewhere around $2, depending on the cost of the jars. I got mine at a local craft store for $1 each, but if you buy them in bulk, they can be even more inexpensive.
We’d love to hear what you think of this hot cocoa reindeer jar. Don’t forget to subscribe to our newsletter for more fun craft ideas, including our snowman jar!

This is such a great idea for holiday gift-giving!
What an adorable little treat! This is perfect for a party or for giving to teachers and other professionals!
These are so cute and would make great teacher gifts!
I love the look of these, I wonder if you could add a layer of dried milk with the sugar and then turn it all into a hot chocolate drink after Christmas? A lovely crafty make.
