If there’s one activity that I can count on to get my girls out of the house and away from their technology, it’s bike riding! Whether we are riding through our neighborhood, through a park or just in circles, in front of our house, it’s an activity that our family loves to do together, as often as we can. This month is National Bike Month and my girls are ecstatic to be celebrating with their brand new Dynacraft bicycles!
It’s National Bike Month
According to the League of American Bicyclists, National Bike Month, established in 1956, is a chance to showcase the many benefits of bicycling — and encourage more people to give biking a try. For me, biking is something I’ve loved since I can remember but in these years of technology, it saddens me to see less families outdoors, riding their bikes.
When I was a child, my fondest memories include riding my bicycle through my grandparent’s neighborhood. The speed and the wind in my hair always made me feel free, like I was flying. It’s a hard feeling to explain, but when you’re a kid, it’s a feeling you never want to end. Watching my girls ride their bikes, I imagine that they are feeling the same things that I did and I can’t help but smile.
Safety, Quality and Durability
When our new Dynacraft bicycles arrived, my husband was pleasantly surprised at how easy they were to put together and my girls were completely enamored by the beautiful details. From the graphics on the seat to the cute little bag that attaches to the handlebars, they love everything about them. Dynacraft selected the bicycles that they sent to each of my girls and without knowing their tastes or color preferences, actually nailed their choices, sending them each their favorite colors. The girls couldn’t wait to get outside and start riding.
Safety is always number one for me, when it comes to my kids. After inspecting each of the bikes, I knew that the quality and durability of the Dynacraft brand was something I never had to worry about. With their helmets on, the girls took their first ride around the neighborhood and I captured as much as I could.
Whether you bike to work or school; ride to save money or time; pump those pedals to preserve your health or the environment; or simply to explore your community, National Bike Month is an opportunity to celebrate the unique power of the bicycle and the many reasons we ride. If you live close enough to your job, consider taking part in Bike to Work Day on May 18! And if the commute is too far, just spend more time this month remembering that feeling you had as a child and ride your bike after work or on the weekends. I guarantee that once you get back out there, you won’t limit bike riding to just one month, you’ll want to do it regularly, like we do.
Don’t have a bicycle? Dynacraft products are sold in stores and online at retailers, including: Walmart, Target, Amazon.com, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Kohl’s.com and Overstock.com. They are so reasonably priced and come in a variety of colors and styles. I have no doubt you’ll find the perfect bike for you and your children.

All my grandkids received new bikes and helmets this year. Love your daughter helmet. They go on a bike ride every single day.
These bikes look awesome and we went riding, finally, today. The weather is finally cooperating and let the riding begin.
Ooh what a great awareness month! I didn’t know! Bike helmets should be made legal although they aren’t here in the UK!
I had no idea it was national bike month. I’ve been missing out. I love that you have a great neighborhood where you can bike with your family. It’s such a great activity to do!
Safety is KEY! When I was a kid I had wreck on my bike and busted my chin. This was way before bike helmets were the norm. My kids know the story and have seen the scar so they ALWAYS wear their helmets.
The kids are having a blast their bikes is as cute as them . Brings back my memories of my childhood. So nice to just go out there and having fun with friends.
It’s been a while since I went biking with my kids. This is one activity we love to do as a family during summer time.
