Remembering My Childhood with Vicks VapoRub

While there isn’t much of my childhood that I really remember anymore, there is one specific thing that I’ll never forget…  The soothing smell of Vicks VapoRub. From the yellow wallpapered kitchen to the green 70’s style chairs in the living room.  The fruit trees that lined the sides and back of the home and the little bedroom where I would lay on the floor and make shadow puppets on the wall.  There was something about that house that always made me feel safe, comfortable and so loved.  Although, I think anywhere my Grandparents were, was my comfort zone.  My Grandparents were amazing people and I owe so much of my drive and personality to the both of them.  While I miss them enormously, I continue to share their methods with my own kids.

As a Mother of three, when my girls are congested, I have the job of bringing that same relief to my daughters when they’re feeling under the weather. They seem to bring home some sort of cough on a regular basis.
