When I think back to my childhood, there are fond memories of specific treats I used to get. Now that I have my own kids, I always get excited when I find those treats because I can buy them and share them with my girls. Do you remember Pop Rocks? They have been my favorite since I can remember and my daughters love them too. So I’m excited to present our you’re a rock star printable!
The look on their faces when that initial pops start to happen never ceases to make me smile. We knew that for one of our Valentine’s Day gifts, we had to incorporate Pop Rocks! This is a super simple Valentine that you can put together quickly with only a few supplies.
You’ll need a printer, our free printable, scissors or a paper cutter and tape. That’s it!
you’re a rock star valentine
Before I share the free printable and the step-by-step instructions on how to create this “you’re a rock star” valentine, let me share a little about the things we used for ours.
If you are unable to find Pop Rocks locally, we found them on Amazon for less than $1 per package. You get nine different flavors (2 of each flavor – Cherry, Green Apple, Tropical Punch, Watermelon, Strawberry, Grape, Cotton Candy, Blue Razz, and Bubble Gum). I was personally excited to try the bubble gum myself!
What I love most about these you’re a rock star Valentine is that you don’t have to be super crafty to make them. Now, if you want to be extra (and we all love to be every once and a while) – you can add some things to make it even more fun.
Tape or glue a pipe cleaner to the back of each package and add some silver pipe cleaners to the top to make it look like a firecracker.
You can also purchase little clear baggies and put each Pop Rock package into a baggie. Tape the free printable card on the top or on the inside of the bag and tie it with a ribbon.
If you aren’t a huge candy fan or don’t want to give candy to your child’s friends, that’s okay! Just print out this super cute card, write their name on it, and voila! A free Valentine’s Day card.
How to Create You’re a Rock Star Valentine for Kids
You’ll need:
You’re a Rock Star Printable
Pop Rocks
Cardstock Paper
Scissors or Paper Cutter
Tape (I use double-sided)
Directions:
- Download our free You’re a Rock Star Printable, open in Adobe Acrobat, and print on cardstock paper (you can also use regular printer paper if that’s all you have available).
- Using a paper cutter or scissors, cut out each card (there are 8 on each page).
- Use a piece of tape to tape one card to each package of Pop Rocks.
- You or your child should write their name on the line.
