Slime. It was a very sour subject in my house for a long time. My girls attempted to make slime once and instead wound up making a mess. A giant mess. Like the kind of mess that you don’t want to clean up but instead want to sit in the corner of your room in the fetal position and hope it goes away by itself. Ok… I may be exaggerating just a little bit. Anyway, since then, I’ve pretty much banned them from even thinking about slime. Until I found out about Dad and Me Slime Lab.
When my girls opened their shop, The Biggest Little Bead Company, one of their first reps was Michaela. It felt like Michaela’s Mom, Lynne and I bonded almost immediately and quickly became Facebook friends. We had a lot in common… the ability to only make girls (though I’m pretty sure that’s the fault of our husbands), we worked for the same retailer AND our girls were competitive dancers, girl scouts, brand reps and aspiring entrepreneurs!
I’m about to seriously date myself but when I was a kid (in the 80’s), I would rush home from school everyday just so that I could watch Nickelodeon’s You Can’t Do That On Television. It was my favorite show. Each time someone would say “I Don’t Know”, they would get slimed. A huge bucket of green, gooey slime would fall down on their head and run down their face. It was AWESOMEEEEE. Another of my favorite shows was Double Dare! A game show known for slime and goop and obstacle courses! Nickelodeon in the 80’s was basically known for slime and I was all about it. I know many of you reading this may not have even born in the 80’s but like everything else, things from my childhood are making a comeback so bare with my trip down memory lane!
In the 90’s, I remember going to the store to buy Noise Putty or Flarp… a small container of slime that made farting noises. Maybe you remember that? It was absolutely the greatest thing ever. I remember my friends and I giggling every time we pushed it and it made that loud noise. Well, I guess thinking back now, I can understand my kids addiction to slime. Although it’s sticky and makes noise, it’s fun! So much fun!
Not long ago, Lynne told me that her daughters would be opening up a slime shop and wanted to send us some slime. I knew that my girls would GO NUTS! And boy was I right. As soon as the box arrived, it was open (like 5 minutes later) and they were ready to play. I caught them over the next few days just sitting at the table, playing with their new slime. For three girls that constantly want a phone or iPad in their hands at all times, this was a welcomed distraction. And best part? It wasn’t messy! YAY!
Dad and Me Slime Lab offers kid friendly slime in a bunch of different colors and types including glitter, butter, glossy and floam. If you don’t see it in their shop, they can probably create it for you. Their prices are super affordable and worth every penny! If you’re looking for something fun for your kids (or even for yourself – you know you want to), make sure to check out Dad and Me Slime Lab. And make sure to follow the girls on Instagram! I don’t know what it is about those slime videos but we just can’t stop watching them. Most importantly, you are helping these girls to fulfill their dream and build their business and what is better than that?!
