So your kid spends all of their time watching other kids open toys, play video games or walk around aimlessly, talking about nothing? Sounds exactly like this girl. Every time I turn around, she is watching someone else’s family on YouTube. This year, I asked Falynn to create a gift guide with what she wants most for the holidays. I was NOT surprised that her list was full of things that she's seen or heard about on her favorite YouTube channels. She even used the word "merch" which totally cracked me up! MERCH! What 7 year old says that?! She has also asked that I figure out how to create a toy line with her face on the box. Those videos have her convinced that it's the natural next step for us and she's confused as to why it's taking me so long to get it done. 😒 Those YouTube families make it look so easy, don't they?! Anyway, instead of sharing a holiday gift guide for 7 year olds, I figured I would share the perfect holiday gift guide for all of you parents out there who have kids that are just as obsessed with @ryansworld, @tictactoyfamily, @funnelvisionfam and all those other fun youtubers who are living our dream lives right now. Head to the blog and check it out! .

Last month I wrote a “favorite things” blog post on a whim. It was fun to share the book I was reading, my favorite movie, podcast and tv series and other things I am currently loving. The response was great and I got so many messages from readers asking for more. So, I’m excited to announce the Super Mom’s Favorite Things will become a monthly series! AND volume 2 is up today. I even included our new favorite snack from @artisantropic! Sooooo yummy! Click on the link in my bio or swipe up in stories and let me know what categories you’d like to see me add in January!

This week has been hard. Sunday would have been my Nana’s 95th birthday and it was also the first anniversary of the passing of one of my best friends, Brooke.
This was the photo that hung in my Nana’s living room. She would show it to everyone that visited her. She told me she would stare at it and smile every single day. She was so proud of all of her great-granddaughters. 🥰 I’m so grateful that my girls were able to know what an amazing woman she really was, even if she was taken from us a little earlier than expected. So while I try to reflect on the good times, I’m still trying to accept that she and my friend are both gone, too soon. It’s been a hard week, but I will get past this and keep living my best life... that’s what they would have wanted. How do you deal with grief?

I say it all the time. We may have rescued Elle from @bigdogranchrescue, but we needed her just as much, if not more, than she needed us. I can’t imagine our family without her. Does your family have any pets? I’d love to hear about them and how they changed your life. .

We visited @treasurecoastsq last week to remind our girls that the true spirit of the holidays is about giving. #sponsored With their lists in hand, they went to their favorite stores (Claires, Spencer Gifts, Forever 21 and Justice), picking out the perfect gifts for their favorite people. They did such a great job of choosing each present without going over their budget and the only thing they got for themselves was hot cocoa and a snack from Starbucks! On our way out, we took some pictures by the Santa Photo Experience, located in the Old Navy Court and someone special snuck up behind them to get in the pictures. They had no idea that Santa was standing just a couple of feet behind them!  There’s something about the holiday decor at Treasure Coast Square that always gets us in the Christmas spirit. Our next trip will be to drop off some donated toys at The Salvation Army Angel Tree table! What is your favorite part of the holidays? #holidayatsimon

Where are my Frozen fans at?! #ad My girls have been fans since day 1, so it’s not a shock that most of their Christmas wish list is Frozen themed. When we found this @HuffyBicycles Disney Frozen EZ Build Bike at Walmart, Falynn couldn’t "let it go" and she received a Christmas gift early! This bike has so many fun features! It even plays Frozen sounds! It’s available in 12” or 16” and features Elsa, Anna and Olaf. It’s perfect for young riders! Head to Walmart to purchase a Huffy bike for your little one this holiday season. They make the best big reveal gifts for the holidays and you’re sure to get tons of nice "warm hugs!" This bike is ON SALE now -- link in bio and stories to shop. #GiveTheRide #LiveTheRide #AvailableAtWalmart .

Traditions are a big part of our holiday season. We are so grateful to be working with @minted this year on one of the traditions I love the most, our annual holiday cards. Our daily lives can be hectic, but it’s a great way for us to stay connected to our family and friends. Minted made the process incredibly easy. They have a card template for everyone and they are completely customizable (greeting, colors, fonts, and more). And if you need help, Minted offers free card styling service. Just Text Your Photo to 22737 and a Minted stylist will text you back five holiday card designs, selected especially for and styled with your photo—for FREE. Import your address book and Minted will address the envelopes for you! Do you know how much time that saved me?! They even have the option to create your own stamps to match your cards! I can’t believe how easy it was and more importantly, how beautiful they turned out. We can’t wait to send them off to family and friends this week! Now through 11/29, Minted is offering 20% off all orders $150+ or 15% off all orders, plus free shipping with code BF2019. Have you ordered your holiday cards yet?

Falynn has always been our little fashionista #ad But now that she's older, she's discovering her own sense of style. She prefers shorts to dresses, hats to headbands and would call her own style "swagalicious," if you ask her. She was super excited to receive this new #BMR1959 Ken doll! She must have spent 15 minutes describing each piece of his outfit. She really got a kick out of their matching hairdos! I love watching her enjoy @Barbie as much as I did as a kid! BMR1959™ is perfect for the holidays! These bold, fully posable dolls capture the diverse looks found in today’s streetwear culture. From high-low fashion mixes, re-imagined ‘90s gear to juxtaposed patterns, textures, and silhouettes, this curated ensemble is all about personal expression and style. Is #Barbie a staple in your home as well? .

Life is hectic. While I wish I could get everything in my schedule done and still have time to grocery shop and prepare beautiful home cooked meals for my family, it doesn’t always work out as planned.  While I wish we had a personal chef, that’s just not an option (at least not on our budget).  There are nights when I’m still working at 7pm and we are forced to order take out and while it’s not all bad, it’s expensive and not always the healthiest option. So what is a Mom with limited time to do?  Meal subscription services to the rescue! Here are the top 5 reasons to get a meal subscription plus a fabulous deal!

First, let’s talk about the deal… My first 50 readers will get $40 off their first two weeks of Blue Apron! Just click here.

1. Saves You Time

There was a time when I would spend approximately 2-3 hours a week planning our weekly meals.  I would check the local grocery store flyer, search for recipes, make a weekly menu based on what was on sale, search for coupons and then go grocery shopping (with all three kids).  Are you exhausted just thinking about that? I am. While it was fabulous to have all of the ingredients we needed to prepare each meal, I found that the fruits and veggies wouldn’t be fresh by day 3 or 4 and some of the fresh ingredients were sold in higher quantities than I needed.  I found myself throwing away food that I had just spent money on and in some cases, making a second trip to the store to re-purchase items I still needed for a recipe later that week.

With Blue Apron, I am only sent what I need for the meals I have chosen. There is no abundance of ingredients and it’s all right there in the box so no need for me to shop.  All of the meals can be prepared in 40 minutes or less, so I’m not spending too much time in the kitchen and am able to spend that extra time with my family, enjoying our delicious, chef-designed meals.

2. Cooking Can Be a Fun Activity for Families

With all of the shopping done for me and with some extra time, I’m able to invite my girls into the kitchen to help me cook.  Blue Apron provides recipe sheets with your delivery that are easy to read.  My girls love to follow each recipe and see their meals come to life.  It’s a chance for us to spend time together, creating something that we can all enjoy and I find that they are more likely to try something new when they’ve been a part of cooking it.

3. Portion Control

While I love to cook, I have a habit of cooking too much.  While we could save some for leftovers the next day, we tend to get seconds and sometimes even thirds, leaving our bellies way too full and nothing left for lunch the next day.  Our portions can get out of control.

Blue Apron allows you to choose from 2-person or family sized meals and they will only deliver the ingredients for the amount of servings you’ve requested.  With our healthier lifestyle, we are now able to perfectly portion the meals for our family and won’t have to worry about overeating or wasting food.

4. Variety

Let’s face it, we probably all have our favorite dishes and we tend to make the same meals over and over again.  It may be comfort, lack of time or just plain laziness. While I can search the internet for new recipe ideas, I just don’t have the time so we wind up eating the same handful of meals each week. While I know the kids will love them, it gets boring and doesn’t expand their tastes beyond spaghetti and vegetarian tacos.

With Blue Apron, you are able to choose from a large selection of recipes and because they are always adding new dishes, you can try new recipes every time.  There are 8 recipes to choose from each week and you can choose any combination of recipes you’d like! So instead of constantly eating the same meals each week, you are experiencing new meals. It makes meal time just a little more exciting for our family.

5. Fresh Ingredients

Blue Apron delivers your ingredients in a refrigerated box.  The ingredients will stay fresh, even if you aren’t home when it arrives.  These ingredients are all sourced from quality suppliers. I was very pleasantly surprised to find everything wrapped and labeled.  It was easy to just transfer from the refrigerated box, straight to our refrigerator.  When it was time to cook, I pulled the ingredients that are listed on each recipe sheet and had everything ready to go.

So, want to know which two meals we had last week?  We enjoyed Soy-Orange Salmon with Fried Rice and Spiced Rice and Bean Enchiladas.   Both were prepared by myself and my two younger daughters.  The portions were perfect and while everyone cleaned their plates, we didn’t find that we needed anymore to satisfy our hunger.  I was able to adjust the spiciness of the enchiladas by using only half of the spice packet and my kids absolutely loved them.  It was actually the first time they had ever tried enchiladas.  Both recipes were easy to make and tasted incredibly fresh and delicious.

While I’ve provided more than enough reasons for you to try Blue Apron, I have one more! They are offering my first 50 readers $40 off of their first two weeks of Blue Apron!   You can cancel or skip at any time, so what can you lose? Try them out.  We know you’ll love them as much as we do!

Cooking can be such a huge chore. Lately, I have been trying new recipes and making foods that is tasty. I can’t say everything that ive been making lacks preservatives but we aren’t eating out highly processed foods every single meal. It does take a bit more work but it is so much better. Now if only my youngest will stop turning up his nose to healthy food options. He would live off mac n cheese, pasta, or chicken nuggets.

I’ve thought about doing Blue Apron before, but I do wonder if I’d be able to keep my $400 grocery budget in check doing this. I certainly can’t make the budget bigger, but would love the opportunity to have more variety in my life with meals designed by a chef.
