We have another super fun Valentine’s idea for your kids! You only need 5 supplies (3-4 of which you probably already have in your home), and I’m even sharing a printable for you, so it’s even less work! Hurray for convenience!
When I asked my 9-year-old what her friends liked, one thing really stood out to me… lip balm! I immediately searched for lip balm in bulk and found a great option on Amazon.
This idea is so simple you’ll wish you had done it sooner. I know I’m kicking myself for those wasted years of buying boxed Valentine’s Day cards with those cheap lollipops.
I’m excited to reveal our “You’re the Balm” Valentine’s idea without further ado!
Last week was bring your child to work day. I was initially skeptical because it seemed like an excuse to skip school, and I couldn’t imagine that my kids would do anything but watch TV and ask me for food every ten minutes. But let me tell you, I was pleasantly surprised! Iyla, my 9-year-old, is the only one who decided to stay home and work with me.
So after a few administrative tasks, which she rocked, I told her that she would design and put together her Valentine’s Day cards. She made a few sketches, and I chose the one that I thought would be the easiest for us to make.
I designed the cards (with her help, of course). Her idea was to use the hearts at the end of the fuse. She chose the wording too.
Once they were printed, she used our paper cutter to cut them out and attached all lip balms to the card stock. We may have spent 30 minutes on the entire project (not including the time it took to photograph).
Iyla even took some of the pictures! She did a tremendous job. And she will be even more proud when she hands them out to her friends on Valentine’s Day and tells them that she made something totally Pinterest-worthy!

What a super easy, and delightful DIY Valentine’s project. Thank you.
Super cute Valentine and message, and one that they will actually use that won’t rot their teeth! 🙂
This is such a great idea! What a cute little note and I like the idea of including a lip blam
What a fun Saturday afternoon craft project for kids. Making their own Valentine’s Day cards is special
I did something similar for the moms at our church on Mother’s Day. However, my card was not as cute as your card is. I love this idea for Valentine’s Day and the free printable is definitely the balm!
I think they are incredible and very creative. Anybody would love them, so nice to see.
Those bring me back to my childhood. I have totally forgot about those lip balm’s. I had almost every flavor when I was a kid.
