I haven’t been camping in nearly 35 years and when we started planning our family camping trip, I honestly had no clue what to pack. We were staying in a cabin because I’m terrified of frogs and I would have gotten no sleep thinking that one could jump into our tent… Yes, I’m aware that a frog could have jumped into the cabin too, but that seemed much more difficult. I packed as though we were going to a hotel (not the best idea in hindsight). Luckily, Super Dad had packed a bag with the things we actually did need. And he saved the trip.
When we arrived, we found a road filled with the cutest cabins, surrounded by trees, a porch with a picnic table and just about everything you need inside, including bunk beds and a full sized kitchen. Ok… so it’s not your typical camping trip. I get it. But we did spend much more time outside than we did indoors. And I even saw a couple of frogs and didn’t hyperventilate.
On the first day, we wanted to explore the campgrounds. It was pretty hot. I believe in the 90’s. Luckily, Super Dad had packed bottles of water for each of us, so we stayed hydrated.
After walking for just a few minutes, we realized that the sun was pretty strong, so Super Dad pulled out the sunscreen (another obvious thing I forgot) and and covered us all with sunscreen. We found the cutest little dock/beach area where you can rent boats or bicycles. There were different trails, a little outpost store with everything you need and a few restaurants if you don’t feel like cooking.
We were outside for probably 20 minutes when we realized how many bugs there were surrounding us. They were literally EVERYWHERE! While my girls love being outdoors, they are not huge fans of bugs, especially flying ones. So we tried to keep walking and ignore the bugs and were seriously considering just heading back to the cabin, when Super Dad stopped and pulled out our Buzz Away Extreme® spray from Quantum Health.
YEESSSSSS.
I was almost embarrassed that I had forgotten to pack it. It’s one of those things that you forget you need, until you get there and then kick yourself for leaving it behind. Although I’m always yelling at Super Dad to stop packing extra bags, because it slows us down, he always packs the stuff I forget.
While there are so many insect repellents on the market, Buzz Away Extreme® is the best. It’s not greasy (such a plus for me because I don’t want to feel yuckier than I already do, in the heat) and utilizes a proprietary blend of plant based ingredients that work together to protect you and your family, which includes citronella oil, geranium oil, lemongrass oil, cedar wood oil and a dozen other plant based carrier oils, aromatic essential oils, plant-based preservatives, and purified water.
It’s so important that I’m not spraying my kids with any type of harsh chemicals or something that could do damage to their sensitive systems. It’s just one of the many reasons we love all of the Quantum Health products.
Once we were all sprayed down, we were able to walk around comfortably. The bugs left us alone and we could enjoy our family time.
We even spent some time at the bonfire sing-a-long, roasted marshmallows and danced. It was such a memorable day. We carried around Super Dad’s camping survival backpack for the entire trip and didn’t have to worry about anything! Thank goodness that he doesn’t listen to me when I tell him to stop packing that extra bag!
If you’re going to be outdoors this summer and want to keep away the mosquitoes and ticks, make sure to pick up some Buzz Away Extreme® . Like Super Dad, you too can be the Super Hero at your next outdoor event.

January 11, 2021Hi Heather,
Enjoyed reading your blog. We love hiking and camping and spend a lot of time outdoors. Yep, the flying little monsters are our enemy. So glad to see that the Super Dad came thru and saved the trip and all the fun.

October 12, 2019I’ve never tried buzz away extreme but I have definitely forgotten the bug spray on camping trips. It completely can ruin the trip!

June 27, 2019I have a super dad, he tends to save just about everything! I’m a cabin type of camper but bugs do get in there too, good thing he was prepared!

June 11, 2019No doubt that he definitely is a super dad at it’s finest. I agree that the cabins look beautiful and enticing. Looks like you guys had a lot of fun.

June 8, 2019There is a plague of flies around our area due to the flooding. I have found nothing that keeps them at bay, although I have heard vanilla works. I’m going to find this product, because I love that it isn’t greasy, and I really don’t want to smell like vanilla cake all day!

June 7, 2019Hurrah for super dad! And I get you on the whole frog thing. I am definitely not a fan.

June 7, 2019It sounds like you had a great vacation, I’m glad that your husband remembered to pack all those essentials. I haven’t heard of Buzz Away before, but it sounds great. We usually go camping over the summer and need to bring bug repellent. I’d prefer a natural one.
Kiwi
June 7, 2019I love the summer but hate annoying bugs. I am glad this brands help your family on your trip!

June 7, 2019I like these sprays that keep bugs away versus the lotion version because it’s not sticky.

June 7, 2019All this rain definitely helped the bug population. I’m eager to try this spray!

June 7, 2019Figuring out what keeps the bugs away can definitely save a camping trip. I remember once being unable to sleep because I couldn’t keep the mosquitos out of my ears.

June 7, 2019Those super dads are such an asset when camping. I stay at home when my boys go camping, though. Ha!

June 7, 2019Awesome! I am so glad there was not any serious harm you encountered on camp.

June 7, 2019We did cub scout camp last year and we were all miserable. It’s nice to know that this product works.

June 7, 2019Thank you super dad! To be honest, I would also be the type of mom to forget simple but essential things like an insect repellant. I need me a super dad as well.

June 7, 2019Buzz Away Extreme® seems like a camping essential. My niece would love to try it. I hope to try it too.
Sherry
June 7, 2019I need some Buzz Away Extreme. Mosquitoes love to nibble on myself and my son. It’s been at least 5 years since I’ve gone camping. Now that I am older I would want to stay in a cabin too.
Catalina
June 7, 2019So glad that you had a wonderful time in your trip and so glad that you found a good solution to all those bugs!

June 7, 2019I am outdoors a LOT and I usually get eaten up by bugs. I need to try this spray!!
Denay DeGuzman
June 7, 2019I love the packaging for this helpful bug spray! Now that it’s mosquito season, we could definitely use a few bottles here at home, and an extra one to keep in the car for road trips.

June 6, 2019Hooray for Super Dad!! What a great trip!
Danielle
June 6, 2019Phew! Seems like you really lucked out having Super Dad there with all of the emergency needs. My kids freak out about bugs too. Can’t wait until that phase passes 😉
Kathy
June 6, 2019The bugs are the one thing I absolutely hate about camping too. It’s so much fun though. I want to take my daughters camping this year. I’ll make sure to grab some of that bug spray too.
Pam
June 6, 2019I would have no idea what to pack for camping. I’m glad you had super dad there to save the day.
Melanie
June 6, 2019We are planning a camping trip, too. Last year was my first time camping. We had a good time. I definitely need to remember to get some bug spray.

June 6, 2019Quantum does make the best bug spray products! I also love their other supplements and throat drops.

June 6, 2019Believe it or not – we have never gone camping together as a family. I’d love to make the trip, and yes, here in Florida we need the bug spray!
Jessie
June 6, 2019I will have to check this out, thanks so much! You make camping look beautiful, you make me want to try again!
Krista
June 6, 2019I always forget sun screen and bug spray when we go places. Randomly it is my teenager that actually remembers it. I need to pick up some of that bug spray before our upcoming camping trip. She would be in shock if I actually remembered it on my own this time.
Ashley
June 6, 2019We never travel without bug spray in the Summer. I don’t want any ticks or bug bites on me.
Lori Bosworth
June 6, 2019Like you, I also prefer sleeping in a cabin versus a tent, not because of the frogs, but because the ground can be so uncomfortable! Camping = bugs!!
Bill Sweeney
June 6, 2019I would consider that a lesson learned, when it came to packing. I’ll have to look for Buzz away. I don’t like sprays that have DEET, and, most sprays I’ve used make me have to take a shower before bed, and this seems like I won’t have to.
Tasheena
June 6, 2019I have to make sure to get this product. It’s nice to not have to worry about bugs when out and about.
Erin Knight
June 6, 2019Looks like you and your family had a great camping trip. I have not gone for camping for a long time, and it is also that I am afraid of bugs and frogs. I will remember to pack repellent, suncreen and bug spray.
Amber Myers
June 6, 2019I need to pick this up for sure. My daughter is all about being outside, but hates the mosquitos, so this will come in handy. She would love to camp, but the rest of us are indoor kind of people, ha.
Cherishingflo
June 6, 2019Buzz away is really the best repellent. It’s good he balances you out that way. I looooove these pictures. First of all, the quality is awesome! Second of all, the cabins are so beautiful! Awesome post! Thanks for sharing!
Jeanette
June 6, 2019I have to admit I am not a big fan of bugs myself. If this works I am all for it. I will definitely look for it in the store.
