I haven’t been camping in nearly 35 years and when we started planning our family camping trip, I honestly had no clue what to pack. We were staying in a cabin because I’m terrified of frogs and I would have gotten no sleep thinking that one could jump into our tent… Yes, I’m aware that a frog could have jumped into the cabin too, but that seemed much more difficult. I packed as though we were going to a hotel (not the best idea in hindsight). Luckily, Super Dad had packed a bag with the things we actually did need. And he saved the trip.
When we arrived, we found a road filled with the cutest cabins, surrounded by trees, a porch with a picnic table and just about everything you need inside, including bunk beds and a full sized kitchen. Ok… so it’s not your typical camping trip. I get it. But we did spend much more time outside than we did indoors. And I even saw a couple of frogs and didn’t hyperventilate.
On the first day, we wanted to explore the campgrounds. It was pretty hot. I believe in the 90’s. Luckily, Super Dad had packed bottles of water for each of us, so we stayed hydrated.
After walking for just a few minutes, we realized that the sun was pretty strong, so Super Dad pulled out the sunscreen (another obvious thing I forgot) and and covered us all with sunscreen. We found the cutest little dock/beach area where you can rent boats or bicycles. There were different trails, a little outpost store with everything you need and a few restaurants if you don’t feel like cooking.
We were outside for probably 20 minutes when we realized how many bugs there were surrounding us. They were literally EVERYWHERE! While my girls love being outdoors, they are not huge fans of bugs, especially flying ones. So we tried to keep walking and ignore the bugs and were seriously considering just heading back to the cabin, when Super Dad stopped and pulled out our Buzz Away Extreme® spray from Quantum Health.
YEESSSSSS.
I was almost embarrassed that I had forgotten to pack it. It’s one of those things that you forget you need, until you get there and then kick yourself for leaving it behind. Although I’m always yelling at Super Dad to stop packing extra bags, because it slows us down, he always packs the stuff I forget.
While there are so many insect repellents on the market, Buzz Away Extreme® is the best. It’s not greasy (such a plus for me because I don’t want to feel yuckier than I already do, in the heat) and utilizes a proprietary blend of plant based ingredients that work together to protect you and your family, which includes citronella oil, geranium oil, lemongrass oil, cedar wood oil and a dozen other plant based carrier oils, aromatic essential oils, plant-based preservatives, and purified water.
It’s so important that I’m not spraying my kids with any type of harsh chemicals or something that could do damage to their sensitive systems. It’s just one of the many reasons we love all of the Quantum Health products.
Once we were all sprayed down, we were able to walk around comfortably. The bugs left us alone and we could enjoy our family time.
We even spent some time at the bonfire sing-a-long, roasted marshmallows and danced. It was such a memorable day. We carried around Super Dad’s camping survival backpack for the entire trip and didn’t have to worry about anything! Thank goodness that he doesn’t listen to me when I tell him to stop packing that extra bag!
If you’re going to be outdoors this summer and want to keep away the mosquitoes and ticks, make sure to pick up some Buzz Away Extreme® . Like Super Dad, you too can be the Super Hero at your next outdoor event.
I would have no idea what to pack for camping. I’m glad you had super dad there to save the day.
We are planning a camping trip, too. Last year was my first time camping. We had a good time. I definitely need to remember to get some bug spray.
Quantum does make the best bug spray products! I also love their other supplements and throat drops.
Believe it or not – we have never gone camping together as a family. I’d love to make the trip, and yes, here in Florida we need the bug spray!
I will have to check this out, thanks so much! You make camping look beautiful, you make me want to try again!
I always forget sun screen and bug spray when we go places. Randomly it is my teenager that actually remembers it. I need to pick up some of that bug spray before our upcoming camping trip. She would be in shock if I actually remembered it on my own this time.
We never travel without bug spray in the Summer. I don’t want any ticks or bug bites on me.
