Now that we’ve found a few smoothies we love, we decided to kick it up a notch, adding fresh fruit and other fun toppings. Dairy free smoothie bowls, where have you been all my life?
My kids can’t get enough (and neither can Mom and Dad)! Since we are incorporating less dairy and more plants this year, we are making smarter choices when it comes to ingredients.
We cut out meat in December and milk and eggs in January. This month we are cutting down on cheese and sugary desserts so finding healthier replacements has been at the top of our priority list.
The Recipe
The reason we love smoothie bowls so much is that you can switch them up and change the ingredients however you’d like to! The flavor of the smoothie, the toppings… it’s all totally up to you.
This particular combination is a favorite of our family. It’s an easy-to-make, good for you breakfast, snack or even dessert. You can use any type of dairy-free milk.
We top our smoothie bowl with fresh strawberries, fresh banana slices, unsweetened coconut flakes, chia seeds and our homemade vegan granola. It’s so yummy, we could probably eat this three times a day and I can’t promise that I haven’t done it at least once.
Make sure to check out the full recipe below and share it with your friends! If you make it, let us know! We’d love to hear how you are making healthier choices this year. Learn more here.
