When we downsized late last year, I wasn’t sure how we would fit all of our belongings into 1/3 of the space. Our new rental home is definitely small, but we’ve gotten pretty crafty with our organization. We went from three large bathrooms to two small ones and, until we were moving, we didn’t realize just how much we accumulated in the bathrooms alone. All of the medicine, first aid, makeup and skincare just wouldn’t fit in our cabinet. Our counter started to look like a disaster. So, after watching that popular organization guru, I took matters into my own hands, found a bamboo box, and organized our downstairs bathroom. It was both therapeutic and fun.

Steps to Organizing Your Bathroom Essentials

  1. Lay out everything on a table.
  2. Get rid of any products that have expired.
  3. Make a list of everything you need (ex: Tylenol, Children’s Motrin, Band-Aids, etc.).
  4. Find a box that can be used to hold your most important essentials.
  5. Neatly organize everything and place the box in a safe place in your bathroom.

Some of the Essential Products You Should Stock Up On

1. TYLENOL®Rapid Release Gels – My go-to for minor aches and pains and to reduce a fever.
2. Children’s Motrin® – Essential for when the kids have a high fever, nothing works faster or lasts longer.
3. AVEENO®SKIN RELIEF 24HR MOISTURIZING LOTION – I love this because it’s fast absorbing and starts to work immediately to nourish and restore essential moisture, so your skin feels softer and healthier.
4. BAND-AID® ADHESIVE BANDAGES – If you have kids, only the best bandages will do. Trust me on this one.
5. Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes– These ultra soft makeup remover wipes effectively dissolve 99.3% of your most stubborn makeup which can be essential after a long day or night out.
6. PEPCID AC® – When it does hit, we reach for this; it works fast and lasts to prevent and relieve occasional heartburn.

  • omg love this basket and esp organizing everything to it- a perfect fit and i love how you’re able to grab everything you need at a quick glance! 🙂 great tips too!

  • It is so important to have those products on hand in case of any minor illness. I just remembered I amout of all my pain and fever relief.

  • I need to do a really big sort out. Mine is all in boxes and they take up so much space. I’m sure I have a few expired products hiding amongst the rest.

  • I’m going to use your tips and organize my bathroom during my week of spring cleaning. I’ve already gone through my makeup and got rid of old, out of date skincare and makeup products.

  • I use baskets to help us organize. The front is labeled so if you need something for a headache you would pull out the basket labeled first aid.
