I’m always shocked when people tell me that they don’t cook salmon at home because they think it’s difficult or they just don’t know how to cook it properly. Salmon is one of those dishes that we make in our home at least twice a month. Not only is it good for you, but it’s a delicious alternative to chicken or beef. While we have a number of ways we make salmon, this particular recipe is one of our go-to recipes because it’s so easy and so delicious.
I was finally able to prepare a quick video on IGTV to show you just how easy it is to prepare salmon at home. With just a handful of ingredients, most of which you probably already have in your home, this entire dish takes less than 20 minutes with prep time (and 12-15 minutes of that is spent baking in the oven). Just prep and place your salmon in the oven while you work on your side dishes.
Salmon, lemon, olive oil, garlic, parsley, dijon mustard and salt/pepper. That’s it. That’s all you need for this quick and delicious dish.
It goes great with rice or steamed veggies (asparagus and broccoli are our favorites). Often times, we will serve it with both. It’s a delicious, quick and healthy meal that my family loves!
The key to the perfect salmon dish is quality salmon. I tend to purchase frozen salmon because believe it or not, most of that fresh salmon that you can buy in your local grocery store, comes to them frozen. Frozen salmon is just as healthy and will keep in the freezer until you’re ready to thaw it and cook it yourself.
I recently started getting my salmon, in addition to our meat, from a company called ButcherBox. ButcherBox is a meat subscription company that distributes high quality meat you can trust; 100% grass-fed and pasture raised beef, free-range organic chicken, heritage breed pork, and wild caught Alaskan salmon directly to your door. ButcherBox believes in better. Their mission is to create a world where everyone wins with meat that is better for you, your family, the animals, the farmers, the business, and our planet. All of their products are humanely raised and never given antibiotics or added hormones ever.
I love the ButcherBox Alaskan sockeye salmon because they are individually packaged and arrive in packs of six. Just take out the number of fillets you need and leave the rest frozen for your next meal. ButcherBox salmon is wild-caught and sustainably harvested from Bristol Bay, Alaska. And it’s SO good!
ButcherBox is offering such an incredible deal, it’s the perfect time to try it and see for yourself! New members receive 2 lbs of wild-caught salmon and 2 grass-fed filet mignons (6oz) for free in the first box! This deal is valid now through 2/16/20.
