Yesterday we visited a local farm and Falynn had the best time ever. She desperately wanted to hold a chicken but she didn’t know how. I love that she wasn’t afraid to ask for help. After learning the right way and trying a few times, she finally got the hang of it. I believe she held 3 different chickens. One 💩 on her shirt and we told her it was good luck. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣 How was your weekend? Did you try anything new?

World Mental Health Day is a day that affects us all. Whether it’s you or a loved one, it seems as though more and more people are speaking out about their struggles with mental health and how it affects their lives. Since having been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder myself years ago, I’ve connected with so many people through social media and am so grateful for this platform where we can reach out to others and let them know that they aren’t alone. What hurts my heart the most, is hearing about the amount of kids that deal with anxiety these days. I wish there was a magic button we could press to take away anxiety from our kids, so that they can enjoy their childhood, but unfortunately, it’s not that easy. Fortunately, there are steps we can take. I am grateful to @theanxietyhealer who has written another guest post on our blog today for those with teenagers who may be struggling with anxiety. She shares what signs to look for and when to seek help. I hope you’ll take a moment to check it out and pass it onto anyone with teenage kids. Let’s help in any way we can. .

There are many special memories I can share about my Nana. She was funny, brutally honest and had the most beautiful smile. And while I can go on and on about her to anyone that will listen (or read), I love to cook her favorite dishes so that my family remembers her through her recipes. Today, since it’s Yom Kippur, I want to share one of my favorite recipes, Nana’s Slow Cooker Pot Roast with Homemade Gravy. Head to the blog for the full recipe. .

AD: Our schedules just got a little bit busier. The girls have started taking music lessons! Falynn and Lucia are learning to play the ukele and Iyla is learning to play the piano. While they are loving every second of it, they get hungry. I always have to make sure they grab some water and a snack. Or in Falynn's case, lots of snacks. This week, she found my stash of @JackLinksJerky in the pantry and decided one wasn't enough. Good thing Jack Link’s Beef Bars now comes in a multi-pack! You can find them in the nutritional bar aisle at @Target. The Bars are made with 100% Beef. 8 grams of protein, 70 calories, and gluten free. I'd say she made a great choice! Have you tried the new Jack Link's beef bars? .

Today is National Taco Day, so we've decided to share one of our favorite taco recipes. Technically, it's not a taco, it's a tostada, but it's just as delicious whether it's in a folded tortilla shell or on top of a flat corn tostada. Lime and cilantro shrimp with a zesty sauce will wow your tastebuds and will be a huge hit with your family! I’m sharing the full recipe on the blog today. Go print it and make it for dinner. Your tastebuds will thank you. .

Raising three girls is tough. They each have their own very different personalities. They don’t get along all the time. They seem to be in competition constantly. I can’t give a compliment to one without the other thinking that my compliment to one, meant I was insulting the other. And while I’m working on teaching them how to handle those situations, I can’t help but think that our female minds are wired that way and it saddens me. We are stronger when we support and encourage one another. So to all those girls out there who are busting their butts to make it, in a world where people are just waiting for you to make one wrong move so they can discard you, keep your head up. Find the people that will have your back no matter what. Surround yourself with others that care more about facts than gossip. And when you do find them, hold onto them, cherish them and have their back in every situation. Together, we can change the world. That’s the power when girls support girls. Have you found your tribe? Tag them and let them know what they mean to you. .

Can I tell you a secret? When I started blogging in March of 2017, I really had no idea what I was doing. I was, what you might call, a spur of the moment blogger. If something happened in our lives, I would blog about it. If nothing exciting was going on, I would scramble to find a topic and then I would kick myself when I would see posts for these random national days. I remember seeing a blog post for National Pizza Day and thinking… Shoot, I totally could have joined in on that one, considering the number of times we eat pizza in this house. I felt like I was always missing the memo but the truth is, I just never took the time to plan!  I didn’t know where to look, or who to ask. So, while I have a wide variety of things I want to blog about, this year I decided to plan around some of the important days and of course, I had to share! Read on for our free printable editorial calendar for the first quarter of 2019!

What is Your Strategy?

Before I share the link to the printable editorial calendar, I figured I would share my strategy for those of you that are like me and didn’t really have a plan. I sat down at the beginning of the month and highlighted the things that seemed most important to me and my readers. Next, I pulled out my planner and filled in scheduled blog posts, when I would need pictures by and gave myself enough time to write and edit photos. An hour or so later, I was officially scheduled through the first quarter of 2019!  I’ve saved myself time in the long run because I know what I need and when I need it by. Of course, if something comes up, as it tends to do, I can adjust accordingly, but at least I know I’ll have consistent content for the next few months.

On the agenda for this month? A fun valentine’s day craft for the family, a Mediterranean inspired recipe and my experience with CBD oil, just to name a few. Make sure you join our email list so you don’t miss out!
