We love Starbucks. But with so many ingredients being out of stock regularly, we’ve had to learn to make our favorite Starbucks drinks at home (it’s. When I polled my Instagram followers to find out which drink they wished they could make at home, there were overwhelming requests for iced peppermint white chocolate mocha.
According to the Starbucks website, an iced peppermint white chocolate mocha contains espresso, white chocolate sauce, peppermint-flavored syrup, and milk served over ice and topped with whipped cream and dark chocolate curls.
Now that I’ve figured out the recipe at home, you don’t have to wait until the holidays to enjoy this popular holiday drink! Let me show you how easy it is to make.

Before I share our Starbucks iced peppermint white chocolate mocha, let me share a few tips about the ingredients.
When it comes to espresso, you have a couple of options. You can brew it at home and allow it to cool down or purchase one of the varieties of cold espresso they now sell in most grocery store refrigerator sections. I recommend the unsweetened kind because you can always make something sweeter, but you can’t remove it if it’s too sweet.
If you have an espresso machine, that is probably the quickest and easiest way. You can also use a stovetop espresso maker. We tried both ways and found the espresso richer with the machine, but it will work with either!
While you can choose whichever milk you prefer, we prefer almond milk. It’s creamier, in my opinion. You can use sweetened or unsweetened, depending on how you like your iced peppermint white chocolate mocha. We used unsweetened, and my daughter didn’t need to add sugar (she usually likes her drink sweet).
They had no white chocolate sauce available at our grocery store or Target, so I ordered a bottle of DaVinci Gourmet White Chocolate Sauce from Amazon, which arrived the following day. You only need four tablespoons per cup, so if you don’t plan on making this drink often, you might want to get a smaller container.
I found the peppermint syrup on Amazon. I like this particular brand because it comes with a pump.
Finally, while the whipped cream and chocolate curls are optional, I found the chocolate curls at Walmart, and they work perfectly. If you want to make them yourself, several instructional posts are availlable online to show you how.
I’ve tried to show the steps in the photos above to make making your Starbucks iced peppermint white chocolate mocha a bit easier.
Step 1: Combine milk, white chocolate sauce, and peppermint syrup.
Step 2: Pour in espresso and stir.
Step 3: Fill up the cup with ice.
Step 4: Top with whipped cream and chocolate curls. Enjoy!
