If you’ve never had a Pink Drink from Starbucks, you have been missing out! According to the Starbucks website, Pink Drink is a light and refreshing beverage that features the sweet flavors of Strawberry Acai Refreshers® with accents of passion fruit and acai combined with coconut milk and topped with a scoop of strawberries.
While our “usual” is an iced caramel macchiato, sometimes you have to switch it up. Our girls have been huge fans of the pink drink since their first sip and since we can’t go out these days, we promised to come up with a Starbucks Pink Drink copycat recipe at home, to hold them over until we can go back.
According to our teen, we nailed it (and that doesn’t happen often)! I should start by mentioning that although the Starbucks description mentions that it includes passion fruit, our copycat recipe doesn’t. I’m honestly not a huge fan of passion fruit. But the good news is, if you are a fan, you won’t miss it and you might even like this version better.
Before we get to our Starbucks Pink Drink copycat recipe, let me share a few tips about the ingredients.
We’ve found that the best way to slice the strawberries is into semi-thin slices (at least for the 1/2 cup that will be placed in the cup. For the strawberries that you’ll be blending, it really doesn’t make a difference. I usually chop those in quarters just to make it easier to blend.
You want to get the coconut milk that can be found in the refrigerated section of your local grocery store. We use sweetened, vanilla-flavored coconut milk.
Since they don’t sell the Strawberry Acai Refreshers in the store, we substituted it for the very berry hibiscus. If you can’t find the Very Berry Hibiscus Refreshers® you can probably use an açaí berry tea powder as an option as well. Just make sure it’s a powder so it will dissolve easily.
What’s in the Starbucks Pink Drink?
The Starbucks Pink Drink features Strawberry Acai Refreshers® with accents of passion fruit and acai combined with coconut milk and topped with a scoop of strawberries.
Is the Pink Drink Healthy?
The pink drink is only 100 calories for a grande, which compared to other options, is actually pretty healthy compared to other option that you can get at Starbucks.
Is the Pink Drink the Same as The Pinkity Drinkity?
Yes, “Pinkity Drinkity” is the same as the Pink Drink. It was named Pinkity Drinkity by the famous YouTuber, James Charles.
Why Don’t the Copycat Recipes Taste Exactly Like the Pink Drink?
We tried a number of the copycat recipes before we created our own and while they all had a unique flavor, none were exactly the same. That’s because even though Starbucks sells a number of their VIA instant refreshers, they do not sell the Strawberry Açaí Refreshers® which is the main ingredient in their Pink Drink.
Our insta-friend Laura, @bump.tobaby, is known for loving her Starbucks Pink Drink with vanilla cold foam. She has an entire Instagram story highlight professing her love for it.
You can add this as well by putting some non-fat milk and vanilla syrup into an immersion blender and blending until it’s nice and foamy. Make sure to leave some room at the top of your cup for it.

So yummy
My feedback :
Use a little less coconut milk
Use more strawberries
My questions
Where do I get a big enough cup to make this?
Can I also use coconut water instead.
Tips
If you don’t have the very berry powder, you can soak hibiscus petals in a little bit of water instead, it works just as great
If you want a sugar free option , you can use Lakanto monk fruit sweetener
Overall 4.5 out of 5 stars

Hi Kanya! I haven’t tried coconut water, but another reader said they prefer coconut water over milk. You can use any size cup you have – the cup I used is a Venti-sized reusable cup that I bought at Starbucks.
If anyone is reading this, DONT use the coconut milk. Use coconut water because that is what Starbucks uses. Tastes so much closer to it. And you can get that special elixir on ebay. Is it maybe illegal? Possibly. But you can literally make it at home and save so much money. No need for the fresh strawberries even. Just those two things together make it magic and it tastes exactly like it. Good luck!

Thank you so much for the tips, Claire!
If Starbucks uses coconut water how does the pink drink look milky? Do they add a splash of coconut milk?
I am so happy I found this copy cat recipe. Now we can make this at home and not have to spend so much to get it at Starbucks. I will get some strawberries tomorrow and make this drink. Perfect to have poolside!
★★★★★
Thanks for the recipe.
Where I buy Starbuck via instant refreshers very berry power? Thanks
Author
I have the powder linked in the post for your convenience. You should also be able to find it at most grocery stores.
They stopped selling them last summer due to supply shortages. They might bring them back when ingredients aren’t as scarce.
I need to make this drink too. Thanks for sharing. I love to discover new recipes such as this
I can’t wait to try this one. I love the Starbucks pink drink!

★★★★★
My kids are obsessed with Starbucks and pink drinks, and it would be awesome to be able to make these at home!
great starbucks hack! really saves from going to the shop every time you want a drink
We make this at home too, but with a sugar-free (actually, low sugar) version. I can’t think of having Starbuck’s 60 some carbs in my body for a drink!
The pink drink is one of my favorites, I can’t wait to try this.
★★★★★
I have not had the opportunity of trying the Pink Drink of Starbucks. But looking at your recipe, I would love to go for the copycat! looks so refreshing.
★★★★★

Author

I have to say, this is a delicious and amazing recipe, like I have to make this EVERYDAY because it’s so good to the point where I’m in love with it! But I would recommend add a little less water and it’ll taste so good.

Many thanks for the recipe! It’s my new favorite drink!
Has anyone had the Starbucks Pink drink and made this one? And if so does it taste like it?
Hi! Does using the blender make it thicker than the Starbuck’s drink?
I’m hoping to try it this week 🙂
Author
Hi Christy! The blender shouldn’t make it thicker, it just helps to create the strawberry juice!
It’s on the Starbucks website listed under the Pink drink ingredients. It’s part of the Strawberry Acai Base.
This Starbucks pink drink sounds so good! I never tried it before but I will have to make this soon with my daughter. I know she will love it too.

This looks really good. I’ll try this on the weekend. Thanks for sharing this recipe!
Just made this. I realized we were out of strawberries after I started so had to sub freeze dried strawberries, and my coconut milk was unsweetened vanilla, so I added 1/2 tbsp more of sugar. I thought it was pretty close! My fifteen year old always orders the pink drink at Starbucks and he thought it was really good (and a close match). Next time I might try 1/2 grape juice 1/2 water and omit the sugar (Starbuck’s site says the pink drink ingredients include white grape juice). Thanks for posting this!
★★★★
Author
Thanks for your feedback! Where did you see white grape juice? On their site it says “Starbucks Pink Drink is a light and refreshing beverage that features the sweet flavors of Strawberry Acai Refreshers® with accents of passion fruit and acai combined with Coconutmilk, and topped with a scoop of strawberries.”
It says it in the ingredients list on their açai concentrate. You can actually buy them on eBay. I had them show it to me once because I wanted to know exactly what they put in it. But the ingredients are listed on that Acai carton 🙂

Thanks for sharing! I will definitely check it out!
Awesome! Now I can make this at home every time I crave for it and not have to drive to Starbucks! Strawberries always remind me of my mom (she passed away last year), so I will make this drink and lift a glass up to her. I am sure she will be smiling down from heaven.
So good!! I used frozen strawberries instead of fresh because that’s all I had, and I used unsweetened coconut milk and added 1/2 tsp of vanilla. I’m going to try it again but add the passion fruit extract 🙂
★★★★★
Author
I love the substitutions! Please let me know how it turns out with the passion fruit extract!
Do you think this recipe is good? I really want to recreate this but all the recipes I found say “it tastes nothing like the pink drink” and it’s really throwing me off.
Author
Hi Ariana,
I can only suggest that you try it and see. I’ve heard more positives than negatives on this particular recipe and my oldest daughter, who drinks the Pink Drink on a regular basis, helped me with this one. I can tell you that no copycat recipe will taste exactly the same because Starbucks doesn’t sell the Strawberry Refresher powder needed to make it. Also, as I mention in the post, I’ve left out passion fruit as it’s not something I personally love. If you do try it, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
This looks good. I will try making it this weekend. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Help! I can’t find sweetened coconut milk in the dairy department. I ended up getting simple truth coconut milk. Can I turn this into vanilla sweetened coconut milk for the Pink Drink?
Author
Hi Debra! I haven’t personally tried Simple Truth coconut milk so I can’t say for certain if it will work. I wish I could help.
While this is tasty, it is not the Pink Drink! The spices in the hibiscus Via are all wrong.

Thank you for your feedback, D! Unfortunately, since Starbucks doesn’t sell the Strawberry Açaí Refreshers® in retail stores, we had to go with the next best option. We are continuing to try to find a good substitute.
Tried it. Unfortunately, it does not taste anything like the Starbucks Pink Drink. It was actually pretty off putting. I was convinced to give this recipe a try due to the high ratings; what I failed to truly take note of was that the majority of the 5 star ratings are from people stating they can’t wait to try the recipe in the future since they enjoy the actual drink from Starbucks, not from folks who tried it first, then rated afterwards. I’ll have to stick to Starbucks.

I’m so sorry that you didn’t like it, Diana. This isn’t exact, as we mentioned because Starbucks version has passion fruit, which we leave out because we don’t like the taste. We appreciate the honest feedback and will continue working on finding a substitute that may work for you!
This looks so good. I know my daughter would love it.
OMG this is my absolute favorite drink at Starbucks!! I just pinned and I’m soooo making it this weekend!!! Thanks for sharing!
